St. Patrick’s College contract approval welcomed. (19th July 2010)

The Minister for Lifelong Learning, Seán Haughey TD, has welcomed the announcement by his Department of Education and Skills that it has approved the building contract for a new €30M project at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.

The new 12,000 sq. metre facility includes new lecture theatres, libraries and offices in addition to the refurbishment of 6,000 sq. metres of existing space.

“This initiative, which is expected to be completed by 2012, will transform the campus and result in state-of-the-art facilities. I know that student numbers at the Training College have more than doubled over the past decade and the Government’s total capital investment in the college during this period will be €40M, when this contract is included”.

“I am delighted that the college facilities are to undergo these significant improvements and will be welcomed by staff and students alike.”
